Wondering if posting to my journal will actually work now? Here goes nothing.

I'm going to have a couple of my favorite fangirls where they can't escape my evil plan at my disposal in the near future, and I thought I might get them hooked on introduce them to my latest teevee obsession Fringe. But it's not the sort of gathering where we can just sit and watch for hours on end - I need a targeted approach for this. So here's what I'm wondering. If you were to pick three episodes of Fringe that could demonstrate the supreme awesomeness of Olivia Dunham -- oops, I mean the Fringe-verse -- what would you pick? Preferably without giving away the whole game, but then again, I've discovered that at least one of them knows some pretty hefty spoilers about the show's premise. So maybe that's not an issue?

In other news, apparently I can still finish fics. Or at least drafts of them. That's a relief. I was beginning to wonder .... :)

ETA: And hey! Apparently I missed this altogether, through a combination of the LJ stuff, RL busy-ness, and not realizing I didn't have the comm on my regular reading list (woe). But it seems [livejournal.com profile] apocalypse_kree is running a ficathon this year! Right now! They've closed for prompts but just opened up claiming, and if you don't like one of this year's prompts, you can still use the ones from the previous ficathons. And we all know how much fun Stargate and the end of the world can be! Thought I'd pass it on in case anyone else is clueless like me.

For these particular fangirls, I would suggest 'Jacksonville', of course, for the X-Files feel it has, as well as the angst, 'Brown Betty', because of the crack factor and because it's relatively kid-friendly if you are to be interrupted (which I'm sure will be likely). The littlest fanboy really likes that episode. It's the only one he's allowed to watch, along with the red opening credits (yes, I've corrupted him). And maybe 'Olivia', though you might have to explain the background a bit... Maybe that one is too far into the series. 'The Transformation' might be good for the whole team feel, not to mention that I love when Peter and Olivia work a case together, but it could be a little gory (though not as bad as some).

You should post this question on [livejournal.com profile] cortexifans and see what people come up with.

Hahaha, Brown Betty would be perfect. Except doesn't that give away a lot? Or maybe that doesn't matter. See, I am bad at this because I really hate watching shows any way except in order from the beginning.

How about The Arrival? Or The Road Not Taken? Or are those not really have the right punch, so to speak?

Brown Betty is not a bad standalone episode though. It just gets a lot better when you know the canon behind it.

Or are those not really have the right punch, so to speak?

Idk...Neither of those really hooked me until I rewatched them with a better knowledge of the backstory. Fractured was the one that actually got me interested in the show because it's standalone enough that you can understand it on it's own, but there's enough loose threads to make you curious... like "Damn, who is this ballsy woman with a gun?!" lol.

Idk, except that looking at the dates I guess a lot of the posts happened during the downtime. I quit even trying to load my main reading list, let alone the ones with comms that I just scan every few days. But still! You should go sign up. I think for the last apocalypse_kree you wrote some of the very first fics I ever beta read for you. *g*
